My prayers and condolences to the McCrone family. Captain Bill McCrone was one of the most aggressive defense attorneys I had to deal with because my job on Ft Ord was to appoint the prosecutors. His client always came first
Thomas Mancini
Captain US Army (Ret),
To those of us whom knew him, Bill McCrone was a hero. He was an unwavering champion for truth, fairness and principle. He was in service to his community and country to the end. To often those who stand for truth and fairness stand alone. That did not stop Bill as he fearlessly took on good and just causes even when against the odds. We owe him a great deal of gratitude.
Bill and I were in Viet Nam at the same time, at the same place, and on the last joint operation of the war, which began in January 1971. Please see the story section for my tribute.
