Although I graduated from Ygnacio Valley 50 years ago, I still remember Mr. Boehmert’s compassion and wise advice. Condolences to his family, friends, and all those he helped through the years. R.I.P.

Dear Boehmert family:

Ken was my counsellor at Garfield Jr. HIgh in Berkeley in the late 1950's.  I was a good citizen, but did get into a few scrapes with several bullies along the way.  He also taped my anke when I returned to the basketball team after braking my ankle.  A great guy who I respect.

I graduated from Ygnacio Valley HS in 1966, Mr. Boehmert was one of the men who counselled me from time to time, usually when I was not on my best behavior. I remember him as being a good and fair man. He was very even tempered and held himself to a high standard which seemed to exemplify his character.  He was one of the Good Guys and will be kindly remembered.   Respectfully,  Dave Allen

Mr. Boehmert was my guidance counselor when I was at YVHS in the late 1980s.  He helped me through some difficult times and remained a friend for decades after high school.  I always appreciated his friendship, support, and wisdom. I am sorry I only recently found out about his passing and regret not spending more time with him in his later years.  I miss him.
