While I was working in Martinez at the Morning News Gazette and later the Contra Costa Times, the Amato family was the epitome of kindness, talent and, importantly to me, news!  Vince and Jack were always there in the wee hours after putting the paper to bed so I could have my end of the day refreshment.  I miss them all so very much.
