Not knowing of her death, I posted this on Sunny's Facebook page yesterday for her birthday.
Dear Sunny,
A hundred years ago (circa 1975, actually) when I was a kindergarten teacher, and you were Miss Toodle-oo, I could only afford to bring you into my class once a school year.
Your performances, complete with scenery, costumes, narration, and music, were exquisite. Once I heard a mother in the office insisting that her child be registered into Super-K (what we called ourselves) because there was a star coming in.
I particularly remember when William, who had a serious speech impediment, volunteered and was chosen to be the the villain. You recognized the problem right away, and you elicited all his lines as roars, grunts, and growls (that he could do.) He was so proud, and I became your fan for life.
Your fan for life,
Joyce
