Sam was a lovely man and a strong advocate for libraries and literacy. When Sam was the librarian at Carver I was one of the librarians at Thomas Dale and we worked together often. I also worked with Julia at Thomas Dale when she was teaching English there. They were the perfect couple - patient, kind and with many shared interests. He will be missed!
