This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Ryan Shaver, who passed away on March 26th, 2017. We will remember him forever.
Ryan Shaver, 23, was born on December 6, 1993 in Richmond, VA to Howard Kevin Shaver and Linda Boyette Shaver. He is survived by his older brother Ben Shaver, fiancée Tamara Ingram, and two grandparents, Ted and Annette Boyette. His many aunts, uncles, and cousins loved him dearly. He had three incredible dogs: Oreo, Chase and Bubba, who brought him immense joy and many cherished memories.
Ryan loved the outdoors. When he was growing up, he could be found playing in the mud and exploring the wilderness with his brother, friends, and pets. As he grew older, he started riding dirt bikes and ATVs and spent much time riding through the woods to his many friends’ houses. He enjoyed the peacefulness and privacy of the country. After a hard day’s work he could be found listening to music on the back deck and enjoying the home his loving parents had created. If the weather was tempestuous, he loved standing out on the porch and watching the rain pour down and wind blow the trees.
Ryan was the grill master, and he couldn’t have a meal without his faithful companions, Texas Pete, Tabasco, or Sriracha sauce. He knew how to spice up his life through his stomach. His taste in music was eclectic: he could jam out to anything from rock to rap to the blues. He possessed some killer dance moves, which never failed to make everyone laugh.
If a friend was broken down or needed a lift, he was always there to help them. If anyone was lonely, grieving, or in pain, he would comfort, console, and find a way to make them smile. He spent many hours in the shop working on cars, motorcycles, and improving the house with his friends and his dad.
Ryan’s love and thirst for truth and knowledge was infinite. He graduated a year early from high school and went on to take classes towards receiving his degree in Funeral Services at John Tyler Community College.
Ryan worked for several companies. He started, as many kids do, by cutting grass at home and then for neighbors. Later he worked for Subway, Tolley Electric, Blasting Services, Hanover Farms, and Guardian Environmental Services.
Though Ryan had some bumps along the way, he was always brave and possessed the incredible talents of easing our minds and spreading laughter wherever he went. His kindness and compassion was a gift to those who knew him, and will live on in our memories forever.
