This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Ronald Mock.

Ronald Dale Mock passed at the age of 77, after courageously fighting a series of lengthy health issues. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Louise (Gutierrez), his three children: Kim, Sharron and Luis, his grandson Joseph and wife Lauren, his great-granddaughter Abi, and numerous nephews and nieces. Ron was born to Chad and Florence (Gabrielson) Mock in Roswell, New Mexico. His family moved frequently, but his roots were always in Washington State with his grandparents, Roy and Lucille Mock.

Ron joined the Air Force when he was 18 years old, later attending college on the GI Bill and becoming an R.N. Ron began his nursing career in the ICU at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he helped to launch the hospital’s Critical Incident Stress Management and the emergency department’s rape crisis unit.

After a family move to Sacramento in 1989, Ron worked in the UC Davis ER, received a Master of Science degree in Nursing, and retired as the House Supervisor for the UC Davis Medical Center.

Ron held a black belt in Shotokon karate, enjoyed cycling and instilled a love of reading among all his children. Ron extended kindness to everyone he met. He will be remembered for his incredible storytelling, ability to connect with anyone and his deep love for his friends and family.
