Rodrigo, loved looking at the stars. You could ask him about any star and/or constellation, and he would know what it was. Or you could ask him, what would be showing this time of the year, and he would tell you. When my sister Nadia was just five years old, he taught her, and she could recite, all the planets of the solar system.

One day while driving around Boston, Rodrigo was pulled over by the police. He was about to pull his car over but then peeled off and took the police car on a wild goose chase. A a few minutes of speeding around the city, Rodrigo did finally pull over. The policeman came up to him and said "Why did you do that?" Dad shrugged and said, "Eh, I don't know."
When I was in the sixth grade my abuelo would occasionally pick me up and bring me to his house. Without fail there'd be a large pot of rice on the stovetop -- leftover from the night before -- and he would quickly fry me up a few eggs. That was his favorite thing in the world, rice and eggs, and he made me a fan of it, too. I ALWAYS think about abuelo whenever I have eggs now.
