Bob was my first really good mentor.  I was a Navy Second Class Petty Officer and he was a commander while I was stationed at COMNAVAIRLANT.  After my enlistment, I went to work for Tidewater Consultants, Inc. and later so did Bob.  I will miss his pearls of wisdom.  My favorite: "You only get so many silver bullets."

To the Family -  I was made, by Navy protocol, to address Bob as "Mr. Nichael" while serving aboard USS SEA DEVIL (SSN-664) with him.  Many years later at a ship's reunion he asked me to refer to him as Bob, and I did.  I remember him as a hard working Lieutenant in charge of our Supply Department at a time when budgets were tight and managed with diligence.  Vaya Con Dios, brother.
