I worked with Bob for many years at the Monitor as both colleague and friend. You didn't edit Bob, you collaborated in the summons to performance on every article and byline that came from him. No one I have ever known loved ideas more than Bob. Think of presents under a Christmas tree, silent feet coming down to open them. Total delight in unwrapping an idea as if a gift, that's Bob.
