Papa meant the world to us. I don’t like to use the word “step-dad” because he didn’t. He always said “your my daughter”. He was so much to so many -husband, dad, papa, teacher, mentor, friend, fisherman, golfer, sports fan, traveler. He loved a good meal, pile of sweets, and a cold beer. We shared so many happy times over the years and for these we will be forever grateful. Miss you papa.
Papa made everything more fun. He loved family! I will miss sharing a birthday dinner (only 1day apart) of Mexican food and margaritas! I will miss his love of gardening, football, Oregon, teaching, a good meal or just a good conversation.
I know you’re not suppose to say this, but “Grampa” Bob was THE best Grandpa to us. We looked forward to seeing him every summer and always had the best time in his presence. I’ll never forget for his 75th bday we went to an amusement park and he rode more rides than anyone. That was the kind of spirit he always had. I wish we had more time with him; for now it’s love & see you later.
I first got to know Bob while attending Clayton Valley, through my dear friend Donna, and have been neighbors for the past 9 years. So many great memories of Bob, but I remember last year at our neighborhood Christmas party he said he wanted to learn how to play Pickelball--I thought that was so great he was always ready to learn something new inspiring others. He will be missed!?
Dad was a wonderful father, grandfather, friend. All who knew him loved him. From me and all of my family,he will always be loved and forever in our memories. Until we meet again Dad. Love you.
Bob
