This is awful news. And this might sound funny, but maybe the best thing to ever happen to Butch was his cancer scare in 1980-81, because it introduced him to Robin, and as good a guy as Butch was, you made him a better guy, Robin. Everyone who met Butch has a Butch story. Or stories. Butch was a lovely guy.

Some Panthers leave a space that is so big it can never be filled. Butch's space is one of the biggest. The world is a lesser place.

Butchie:
Your sudden death has saddened us all. At rest now with your Mother and Father. Rest in peace cousin.

Butch,
We (Billie & I) are still in shock over your passing away. You were an amazing force of love to everyone and looking over all of us now

Butchie. I met Butch when I was 9 years old. I lived down the street from him on Benton St. in Santa Clara. We both played for the Jaycee's of the Santa Clara Westside Little League. At Santa Clara H.S. I enjoyed watching his amazing basketball skills. He had a larger than life personality, was generous with his kindness, and lit up the room where ever he was at. A legend!
