This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Jay Bogiatto, 67, born on December 8th, 1953 and died on July 4th, 2021. We will remember him forever.

Many of my favorite memories come from my time as a biology major at Chico, going on field trips and taking awesome classes like Field Ecology of the Western Great Basin at Eagle Lake. It’s when I really became me. I am so grateful to have been one of Jay’s students. I incorporate much of what he taught me in the classes that I now teach. He will be greatly missed.
I am so sorry to hear about Jay’s passing just now.
Jay was one of my favorite teachers of all time. I remember we were stuffing dead animals in class, and he reached over and took a bite of maybe a sandwich? I almost threw up. I don’t think he had gloves on. He was so fun.
