Phil, you will be greatly missed. You were a great motivator of men,and were one of the first senior executives I met when I started my sales career with M&M/Mars in 1969. You inspired me to be the best I could be,and I always wanted to make you proud of me.One of the things I remember most about you was your positive attitude and you always had a smile on your face. Will miss you. Joe Doyle
My first impression of Phil was receiving a welcoming letter and a framed copy of the poem "The Candy Man". A class act right out of the box. Being a sales rep from his old territory in Boston gave us another connection as well. "What are you rascals up to?" A frequent refrain. A wonderful man. Cheerful, inspiring, engaging, motivating and caring. A role model for all who worked with him.
Makes me sad. Can't say enough good things about Phil Joyce. One of M&M/Mars best. Always smiling and friendly to his troops (unless we missed our numbers) He was responsible for putting a lot of bricks in the building during M&M/Mars growth years. A true class act. He was a natural leader. Customers loved him. We shared the same Boston roots ( he was from Dorchester and I was from Chelsea) and even though I was a new guy in the 70's, and he was a VP, he'd stop and chat with me at sales meetings. He possessed an art that has since been long gone in business, and that's one on one social skills and a smile. RIP old friend.
