Dear Allen and all the family,
What a shock to hear of your family's loss.  Pam was a lovely person and has been extremely kind and generous to me and my family - I'm not sure I ever thanked her properly..  She had a lovely smile and a joyful personality that will remain with you always.  God bless and keep her and may her memory always be a blessing.

Dear Allen,

It was a pleasure to spend time with Pam in the cause of creating a more compassionate world through the work of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter. You were both so warm and welcoming in opening up your home to us. I will never forget her unwavering commitment and kind spirit.

Dear Allen and Family,
I was so saddened to read of your loss. I always smile when thinking of Pam.  All my memories of her are joyful. My garden is full of plants from Pam’s generosity. She guided me in the design and their care.
May your memories sustain you at this difficult time.
Fondly, Gemma

Dear Allen,
I am so sorry to hear of Pam's passing. She and I were such good friends in the Geneva days. We brought each other solace in the difficulty of being ex-pats. Pam was such a strategic thinker and knew how to manifest beauty and goodness all around her. My heart is with you and her family, Allen. Take good care. Jennifer

I am so very saddened to hear of Pam's passing. My heartfelt condolences to her husband and family, and all those who loved and admired her. In the time I knew her (through the animal shelter), I was continually impressed with her wit and grace. When she spoke, I listened. I think we all did. The world has lost an impressive person and a kind, giving soul. May she rest in peace.

Oh Allen, what a jolt to see this.  From being friends and co-conspiritors in high school to roommates after college, my memories of Pam run deep.  Phone call catch ups and several great visits round out my memories of her, I can hear her wonderful enthusiastic laugh as I type. Thank you Allen for loving her so well.

Dear Allen and all of Pamela's loved ones,
What a horrible shock to learn of Pam's passing from this life!  It is truly a great loss to everyone in her great sphere of influence.  She was warm, generous and one of the most engaging people I have even met.  May she find eternal rest and those she leaves behind, peace, light and comfort.

Dear Allen, Grey just sent word of Pam’s passing. Will and I are so sad for your loss. She was one of a kind! A great friend, wife, writer. I loved her dry humor, always spot on. Santa Cruz has lost a special person in their community, as the many tributes attest. We hope to see you soon, Allen, to share memories of our good times together. Much love, Barbara &Will

Dear Allen, I was so saddened to hear of Pam's passing. She was a great friend and neighbor. She taught me everything I know about gardening. She gave Matt his first cat and taught him all about nature at The Burr. She was a most special person!

Very dear Allen,

I have been meaning to contact you since receiving your email. But I wanted to let some time  go by before writing to you to tell you how terribly saddened my family is to learn of the loss of dear Pamela.
We have not been touch so we don’t know the circumstances surrounding her passing. Whatever they were, it is now towards you that our hearts pour out our sorrow and love.

I retain a most wonderful souvenir of my stay with you. Pamela received me as warmly as if she had known me well.  I truly wished I had had the delight of spending more time with her.

We would so much love to see you and hug you when you are next in Geneva.

The homage in the Boston Globe was truly beautiful and touching. May Pamela’s soul rest in peace.
With our love and sincerest condolences to you and to your children.
Jazz, Clarissa, Julian and Mike.

I will share a story, if I can figure out how to do that.  Such an interesting life she created for herself.  By exposure to that interesting life, she influenced her younger cousin.  And as shocking as it is for the rest of us, who wouldn't sign up to go as she did--doing what she loved, with people and creatures she cared about?

Dear Allen,
We are all very very shocked and saddened to learn of Pam's death. She had such a sweet and kind demeanor. All of us looked forward to her visits to the office with her arms ladened with fresh rosemary from your garden. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
