Mildred Dolores Swanson passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2018, in Mountain Ranch, CA, surrounded by her family.  She was born on October 24, 1929, in Newman, CA, the only child to Emelia and Joaquin Azevedo.  Millie spent most of her life in Bay Point, CA, where she raised her three children.  She graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord, CA.  Millie worked for DMV in the Pittsburg and Concord field offices, retiring after 31 years of service.  She also served as a Member and Treasurer of the Bay Point Historical Society.  She will be remembered as a fun, loving, generous, social butterfly with a spark of spunkiness.  Millie’s greatest joy was her family and she enjoyed life to the fullest.  She enjoyed reading, square dancing, bicycling, music, and traveling.  Millie loved sports and watching SF Giants, 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors play.  She will be lovingly remembered by her three children Steve and Desiree Swanson of Mountain Ranch, CA, Jackie and Lester Burgess of Lakeland, FL, and Kimberly and Wayne Nagy of Port Townsend, WA.  Also blessed with seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.  Though we are deeply saddened, and the agony of her loss cannot be placed into words, we take comfort that she is no longer suffering and is with her family and loved ones that have gone before her.  A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clarksburg, CA, on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 11am.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made in loving memory of Millie Swanson to Hospice of Amador & Calaveras.

Candle lit  by Kim Heiny on May 2nd, 2018

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Millie about 7 years ago. We were neighbors. Millie meant the world to us. We have so many memories. We loved decorating our yards for the holidays and just being with her hanging out in our front yards everyday catching up on gossip. We will miss her terribly. So Thankful to have been in her life. What an amazing woman. We love and miss her.
