My Uncle Mac was the best!  I have many happy memories of him from when he visited us in Florida, to when he took my sister Lynn and I flying and Lynn got air sick so he dropped her off and took me back up.  We flew over Camp and Sacandaga Lake - so cool! He was not only my God father but also a stabilizing force in my life and his love story with Aunt Jane is one for the history books.  

Heaven received a huge shining light when Bill arrived. My Uncle Bill was the best. Always a chipper attitude, a great sense of humor, such a kind spirit. He was very special to my family, and especially my Dad Mike McCarthy. I always knew when Dad was talking to Bill because there were so many bursts of laughter. Now Dad and his Brother Bill are again together. I will miss talking to him

Dear McCarthy family,

I am so sorry to learn of this loss just yesterday! (12/20/2018). Jane and Mac were neighbors of my late wife and me on Furman Street for 25+ years. There were no better neighbors on earth! I am sure Bill is tinkering away happily in Paradise!
