It’s very difficult to say goodbye to your father but I will always remain thankful for his guidance & showing my brothers & I what a real man is.  You have set the bar high & I can only dream to be half the man you were.  God speed.

I met Vern at Downey High School. We were just teen kids, looking for excitement and long lasting friendships.
We were good close friends. Hung out together nearly every weekend. Ran on the school track team together.
Talked to him last year about getting together soon. This news comes as a shock to lose him so early in life.
