Mr. Vest was the most influential teacher of my childhood. I still remember his wonderful notes of encouragement that he left on my desk, and how great it was to be the "Super Person Of The Day." He taught me to love school, and and very important life lessons that have helped me succeed, and that I pass down to my daughter. Specifically, how he taught me, that I can make things happen.  

Tom Vest was my former  brother-in-law . I remember his great enthusiasm for teaching.  He had so many unique names for his activities, that would excite any fifth grader. Tom  was devoted to taking care of his mom and commuted from her San Francisco home to Livermore for many years.  When his older brother had car  trouble or  moved, he always, lent a hand .
