Sheila - You were not only my Niece, you were my truest friend. You came into my life 40 years ago and oh my, what memories we shared. I will never forget getting lost with you for almost three hours in Maui. What laughs we had and what amusing people we met.
With your kindness, friendship and humor (I will always remember that wholehearted, unrestrained laugh of yours) you have been a constant in my life. I will forever be grateful to you. You were a friend, a mentor, a teacher, a sister, an advocate and an example of servanthood through and through. You touched so many lives with your enthusiasm for life, mine especially
You will remain in my heart forever. I will miss you more than words can say.

40 years ago, I was struck  by lightening out of the most beautiful sky. Her name was Sheila. Since that day I am forever changed, charged, and a force of love and light. I love you Sheila.

Sheila was a classy lady-lovely smile, wonderful laugh. She was a strong woman whose faith in God and dedication to battling domestic violence was an inspiration. May she sing with the angels.

One of the nicest, funniest, smartest and kindest woman I have known.  From days at Lyon&Lyon when my kids were small to a week in Kauai.  And of course our Lyon Christmas parties will never be the same without you "stealing" the favorite gift!

You will always be in our hearts.

Dearest Sheila, our last visit & fun day with "The Girls"
Daughter &  Grandaughter Lynette & Alexis at the
Monterey Bay Aquarium was the BEST. Uncle Lance got to show his work and feel proud. When I mentioned " let's go into the gift shop...Grandma is
Buying", a joke but you had my back as allways.LOVE YOU!

Ms. Sheila, my eyes are full of tears as I type this. The beautiful pictures of you remind me of your laugh, smile and hugs. Thank you for all of the love and advice you shared. I'm going to miss coming over to get my hugs and to hear you say, "hi sweetie". Something I'll never forget.

A great human being. Sheila was so kind and friendly to me when I became her neighbor at work. I will miss her smile, friendship and positive spirit.

Sheila, I'm so sad to hear you're gone. You'd been through enough and had so much love left to share. You are and will remain a role model for me. A reminder that I have strength and power to overcome anything and to enjoy people and enjoy life...everyday, every minute. I hope you received my card and could feel all the love from near and far around you as you transitioned.

You taught me so much; to accept what is, learn from all experiences, forgive the wrongs of the past and move on and the most important lesson - when I feel I can't endure much more, to leave it to God to take care of the rest.  I love and miss you so much and I leave it to God to take of the rest. Rest in peace my sister from another mother.

Sheila was a good friend and colleague for most of my legal career, and we kept in touch even when we were not working together.  I was so impressed by her dedication to abused women's issues and her nonprofit work.  I am deeply saddened to lose her as a friend.

I woke up today thinking of this wonderful woman whom I never met but was so kind and authentic and helpful to me. I'm extremely sad at her passing. Yet knowing her suffering ceased fills me with gladness. Such is the bittersweet reality of how things are. I feel her kind presence and I thank her and smile. She lives on in every single act of kindness she imparted. Much love dear friend. You are missed
