This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Sarah Harrison, 87, born on July 28th, 1933 and passed away on July 11th, 2021. We will remember her forever.
Here is the tribute that Susie wrote:
My mother loved Sarah. When mom remarried for the second time, mom insisted that Sarah was to be her maid of honor. Mom and I went back to Baltimore in about 1964 or 1965 and stayed with Sarah and the family. Mom and Sarah stayed in touch all those years. When I was born in 1951, Sarah took care of Rick...Rick loved her. My dad loved Sarah too. I loved her in a different way only because I didn't know Sarah like the rest of my family. She had gone when I was growing up.
I really got to know her when she and Frank were married and they had Steven. Sarah and Frank were the ideal couple and I always could see how much they loved each other and they were really connected. And they both loved to laugh and have fun.
Mom, dad, Rick and I visited both of them on numerous vacations.. What fun we had. And Sarah was such a good cook and made such great lasagna!
When mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, time was short. Sarah made one last trip to La Grande to see mom. It was very touching...as they both knew it was going to be the last time they were ever to see each other. I took several photos, and they both tried to stay upbeat and enjoy themselves...but it was sad. The inevitable was there.
I was sad when Sarah was diagnosed and slowly slipped from us. However, when Sarah passed, I could see Sarah at the gates of heaven meeting Jerry, Serene, her twin, Ida, my mom and dad. They all had welcoming hands and hearts, with much love, and Sarah again was with her family!!
So happy birthday Sarah...and give our love to the rest of the family!! We love you and miss you!
