How appropriate that Rox' obituary is posted on Beltaine (May 1st) where Celts celebrate the fecundity of life. Roxanne, who nurtured and celebrated each and every first breath our children took in the sanctuary of our homes, who championed women reclaiming their inherent self determination, for these gifts we are eternally grateful !
I agree with Lesley! & add that I am thrilled to learn of Rox's memorial, but I must sing to Rox from afar (in the Pacific Voices Choir concert at the same time!) I will seek to hear her voice w ours, & dedicate mine to celebrate Rox. I am proud and honored to have known her. Thank you for the beautiful telling of some of her life storylines, and the pics! Such Beauty in her! thru&thru!
So tender to me that my niece, HanaRuth, sweeping through Santa Cruz couple years back, newly come from being mentored by team of Guatemalan indigenous midwives, got to sit down with our own dear Roxanne, Santa Cruz treasure of a midwife. Beautiful life. Amazing gifts, Scottish legacy wisdom woman xoxoxox
Today celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday, remembering Rox holding my hand as she had 6 years earlier with my son. Thank you Belle for putting up this site, so that I could see Roxanne's smile and remember how deeply she touched me and my family, and how grateful I am to have known her and learned something big about living from her. Blessings family.
