Almost every year since I was about 1, my family went to Uncle Andy's in El Cerrito for Thanksgiving.  I remember his laugh and big smile.  He always paid attention to me.  The summer he was a ranger in Yosemite we hung out at Glacier Point, watching the now-banned firefalls as they cascaded down the granite cliffs.  Andy loved the outdoors.  I will miss him.

Cousin Mary, thanks for your note, and brother Bob, thanks for setting up this site.  I have said it before, and I will say it again:  Dad was a tough old bird, and not a quitter.  I am happy to say that I was his favorite daughter.  Mom and Dad were married for a bit more than 67 years.  That is an accomplishment I truly admire.  Love, Cindy

Andy was my father-in-law.  I met him in 1974, the year I met his daughter, Lucinda.  I always enjoyed talking with him about a wide-range of subjects and was keenly interested in his WWII experiences.  He led an honorable life and he and Katherine were blessed with many, many friends.  In so many ways he was part of "The Greatest Generation."  He will always be well-remembered.

Uncle Andy's smile and laugh always made me happy! If he was not laughing he was grinning. He did not say much sometimes but you felt his presence and it felt good!! I will miss him and am grateful for knowing that feeling. Much love always.

So many miles separate our families but that never stopped us from constantly thinking of our family in California.  We have been looking forward to our trip west in October and the chance to see everyone again.  Truly sorry for the loss of "funny, smiling teddy bear" Uncle Andy.  Remembering him as he would tease Susan and I during our visits.  Such a wonderful man.
