Our family will always remember how much Bob loved and cared for his family and how proud he was of Kelly and Jeff. His face beamed when he spoke of them. He was truly honored to be their dad. But his magnanimous spirit extended beyond his family. He invested in all of our kids. His kind, warm and generous spirit can be seen in all of you. We feel so honored to have known Bob.

Bob will be incredibly missed.  Such an upstanding and gracious person. I had the honor of working with him in various roles over the past 20+ years. He was always very genuine, and I loved that his family was clearly his first/second/third priority.  Sending my best wishes to the DeBarr family.  Keeping you all in my thoughts.

Met Bob in 2000 at National Semiconductor. Even though as a Dodger fan I was his mortal "enemy," he always treated me with kindness and respect, as he did everyone. Bob was a humble man who truly loved his family and put them first. If we weren't discussing sports or music it was his entire family that was the subject of discussion. A truly nice guy! Prayers for the family.

I worked with Bob off and on for 25+ years, he was always a very respected and all around nice guy. He will certainly be missed. My thoughts go out to his family. Very sad

Candle lit by  Mary Phelan  on July 10th, 2016

I worked for Bob off & on over a 10-year period at National Semiconductor.  I can honestly say that “Bob D” (as we kindly referred him to) was my favorite boss ever.  He was fun yet fair and inspired so many people.  He made me believe in myself when I didn’t think I was capable, and for this I will be forever grateful.  Thanks for all the happy memories of our times at National.  He was taken away too soon and will truly be missed!

Candle lit by  Brian Halla  on July 10th, 2016

Bob was the kind of guy that put a smile in your heart when you saw him coming. A delight to be around and a joy to talk with. He was unflappable in his job and you knew he had things under control. One of the true joys about my time at National Semiconductor was getting to know people like Bob. My heart goes out to Pam and his other loved ones. Bob was truly a good person. Brian Halla

I am deeply saddened to learn of Bob's passing. I had known Bob for  30+ years, as a colleague in the early 80s when I worked in Santa Clara and as my boss years later when I was Finance Director @ National's Singapore plant. Bob was a very understanding and supportive boss. I learnt much from him.I will miss him dearly. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family. RIP my dear friend

I knew Bob for over 25 years firstly as a work colleague at NSC and then as a true friend. One of Scotland's football teams sing a song that sums up Bob - "Simply the Best". Joan and my prayers and thoughts go out to Pam, Kelly and Jeff and the extended DeBarr family at this sad time.

Candle lit by  Jamie Samath  on July 11th, 2016

I met Bob while working at National.  He was a great leader, admired and liked by everyone.  Outside of the workplace, Bob was an excellent role model and friend.  He possessed a huge heart, the utmost character, and was one of the most solid people I have ever known.  Thoughts and deepest condolences to his family.

Candle lit by  Bill Inserra  on July 11th, 2016

Bob and I shared many things in common - work, neighborhood, and the Giants.  Life, like a baseball season, is filled with ups and downs and it's been truly a joy to be able to share my passion for the game with someone like Bob over the years.  Will never forget sharing a high five at a meeting as we both got an update from a Giants game as others at the meeting looked on in bewilderment.

Candle lit by  Tom Randazzo  on July 11th, 2016

I reported directly to Bob at National and got to know him more as we sat on the credit union board together.  Bob was genuinely a nice person and always gracious to everyone around him.  He was a professional and a true gentleman.  Bob was my friend and I will miss him terribly.  My deepest condolences to the DeBarr family.

Candle lit by  Brad Paulsen  on July 11th, 2016

Bob joined our NSC group in Mil/Aero bringing with him a professionalism that was only surpassed by his positive attitude.  Years later I'd see Bob at industry functions and he always had time and a smile to share on business topics or local sports. Bob will to me always be one of the good guys and they can be hard to find in this "Cynical Valley" we share.

Candle lit by  David Kirjassoff  on July 12th, 2016

My deepest and condolences to the DeBarr family.  I worked with Bob at NSC and he always had a smile on his face and made you feel welcomed no matter what position you were in or what you had to see him about.  I appreciated his approach and leadership; he had a calmness about him that helped to ease the tension.  I am so sorry that we have lost a wonderful man.

Candle lit by  David Muilenburg  on July 13th, 2016

My thoughts and prayers go out to the DeBarr family.  Bob was a friend and mentor to me.  He cherished his family and friends and seemed to think of himself last. Our last lunch in Feb was spent sharing pictures of his cherished granddaughter, offering me fatherly advice and talking about life, family, friends and the good times we had. RIP my friend, you will be sorely missed.

I was so sad to hear of Bob's passing.  I remember meeting him at NSC about 30 years ago when he came in as Material Controller, then later on many different positions under the Corporate umbrella...including on the board at the Credit Union. My condolences to the Debarr family.  He was a good, kind man and loved his family and work.  He lit up a room ..he will be missed by all!

I was truly saddened to learn of Bob's passing. All the great tributes are not surprising as Bob brought much joy and laughter to many lives, including mine. I feel blessed to have been able to stay in touch with him beyond our careers at National. Bob, I'll miss your bright smile and the wonderful twinkle in your eyes!

Bob was a very unique person who easily connected with everyone he met and was so much fun to be around. Will always remember we were both born in the Bay Area on the same day, month, and year. Our Saratoga Woods neighborhood and community will miss him dearly...

Grilling side by side with Bob at the barbecue pits at Nat Semi for the annual Finance picnic listening to tunes on his portable CD player while we were cooking ... is but one of my lasting memories of Bob. He was a tremendous person and a consummate team player.  My thought's are with Bob's family.  He will be remembered always.

I was describing Bob to someone that did not know him well and there are not enough good words to portray the kind of man, mentor, boss and friend that Bob was to so many. I continue to be deeply saddened by his passing and finding myself regretting that we didn't get the Nat Semi reunion together sooner. While his time here was short, his impact was huge. Love sent to the DeBarr Family!

My deepest condolences to the Debar Family.  Bob was the best boss and mentor I have ever had and a true friend.  He taught me so much about both work and life.  He always had a smile and a positive attitude and I never saw him sad, angry, or upset with anyone (sports excluded of course).  Although his time with us was way too short, he made a significant impact on my life.  I will miss him deeply.

Candle lit by  Elizabeth Jones  on July 22nd, 2016

I was deeply saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I worked with Bob for over 20 years at NSC. During that time, I can't remember how many people said that he was the best manager they had ever worked for and it was easy to see why. He was generous with his advice (and Giants tickets), had a great sense of humor and always fun to be around. My deepest condolences to the Debarr family.

Candle lit by  Michael Polacek  on July 22nd, 2016

Bob was such a unique guy. Chatting with him in the halls at National over the years he was always steady, always straight-forward and upbeat. A great loss. My deepest sympathies to his family.

My first job out of college was reporting to Bob.  From there we had a lot of fun "non-work" activities that included meeting up at a casino and playing craps.  He taught me various things at work and in life, and one of my favorites was not to be a "starter", but to be a "finisher".  I love Bob, he was a true finisher.  He was one of my biggest idols!

Bobby D, Bobby D, Bobby D - how you filled our lives with glee!  A huge Giants fan, you gave everything you can!  Bobby D, Bobby D, Bobby D!
