Dear Dick, When we first met I was a young investigator beginning  retinal research in Italy. Meeting you opened for me wide scientific horizons, started a long and beautiful collaboration and granted me a lifetime mentor and friend. I was lucky to know you and your family and to have you to meet mine. I shall miss you incredibly but I am grateful of the many memories. Fly high. Enrica
