I am very saddened by the passing of Richard (to me he was "Dick").  He was my manager in the mid 70's at GE and gave me many opportunities to take responsibility for major projects in our group.  I truly respected Richard, he was a wonderful person.  With his leadership and trust I was able to become an expert in the field of pipe rupture protection for the nuclear power industry.
