Fr. Himes was a wonderful colleague during his time at Notre Dame. May he rest in peace.

Having sent 3 kids to BC, I heard Fr. Himes preach at various welcoming and bacchalaureate Masses: he thoroughly moved/inspired me.  One of them gave me as a present an audit of his 10-day summer session class Christology.   Before the classes began, I told all these out-of-towners/out-of-country classmates that he was a legend: he didn't disappoint. On the last day a standing "O" ensued.
