I am very blessed to have great memories of our dad.  He was a beautiful man, gentle, kind, generous to a fault, stubborn, caring and very compassionate to others.  I will miss him very much as someone who was not only father but mentor in life.

In the few years of my life that I had the honor of knowing Rev. Akers, he treated me with the utmost compassion, love, and respect.  My sincere condolences to the Akers' family.

I was so very Blessed to know Rev. Akers and his family; his daughter, Blessie, is my very dear friend.  It is with sincere sadness to say farewell to him as a great man on this earth.  However, he will receive his earned reward in Heaven.  Much love to his family while adjusting to his absence from their lives.  His memory will live on forever.

John and Joyce were dear friends to my in-laws, Bob and Ginny Skinner. They knew each other through church. My family appreciates John because he officiated at the wedding of our oldest son. Ginny has passed away, and Bob has dementia, so we are sending the heart-felt condolences that they would want for you.

Your father was such an important part of the past 15 years of my life as I got to know him through his friendship with my father. He was so kind and loving; he helped my dad in so many ways--through my mom's passing, and my father's own quests and church and then his slow decline due to illness. His humor and love shown in all he did
