I met Paul for the first time on Sept 10th, 1995 at the age of 16 at Raley's in Antioch. I'll always remember that day because I thought he was mean and grumpy. Of course over the years I saw his true colors and looked forward to the days we worked together. I will always remember him as kind, caring and funny. He will truly be missed!!!
Paul was my Dad's best friend, more like a brother. One of my favorite memories with Paul is when he and my Dad took Sara and me to a New Kids On The Block concert for our 9th birthdays. I remember seeing them look at each other with that look like "save me"! I'm sure it was torture, but they'd do anything for their kids, even endure an NKOTB concert. I will always love and miss you Paul!
Paul was assigned to train me as an apprentice clerk at Pittsburg Raley's in 1985. Paul looked grumpy from afar. But when you got close to him, you realized he was a great human being! I remember we were talking & for some reason I looked at Paul & told him he would make a great Papa Smurf for Halloween. Well he did it & everyone loved it. Everyone at Raley's still remembers Papa Smurf!
It has been many years since we attended New Life Fellowship with the Smith family but Paul was a great guy, the Smith family is a wonderful tribute to Gods love. Our hearts are heavy for their grief but we also will rejoice with them that he is with our Heavenly Father. Reunited with his parents, brothers and daughter. Our prayers are with you Smith family.
My husband Mark and Paul were friends that's how I met him and Deedee their daughter Lisa was born the day we got married. Our prayers go to his family. We are so sad
