Carmen passed away at the age of 87 on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was born on Aug. 26, 1934, in Pittsburg, CA. She graduated Pittsburg High in 1952, married & moved to Walnut Creek CA,  where she went on to have 6 children. Her love of the ocean drew her to her favorite vacation spot, Carmel-By-The-Sea. She enjoyed seeing her grandchildren & great-grandchildren, gatherings with her extensive family, playing softball, cooking & making people laugh with her outgoing personality. She was a devout Christian, constantly praying for family, friends & strangers. She taught her dog,”Slick” to sit, bow his head & hold her hands until they finished praying.
Carmen is survived by sons: John (Barbara) Welch, Robert Welch-Verduzco & Michael (Denise) Collins, daughters: Helen (Rich) Gates & Kelly (Joe) Clough, sisters: Isabel Neugebauer & Antoinette Tracy, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, & many cousins, nieces & nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents Godfredo & Agapita Verduzco, daughter Patty (Phil) Nelson, brothers: Adrian (Emma), Al (Myrtle), Louis (Sue), Anthony & Raymond Verduzco,  sisters: Mary Lou (Sal) Suniga, Margaret (Charlie) Gallegos, Lola (Buddy) Aiello, Connie DePaulo & Helen Verduzco.
