Norman and I were neighbors across our backyard fences for 28 years, and he was a wonderful man. I will remember him always gardening and puttering around in his yard, and how happy that made him. No one gets to live forever, but in Norman’s case, I was hoping... I’m grateful that he wasn’t in any pain, and that he was able to say goodbye to his kids and grandkids and great-grandkids.

My heart goes out to family and friends on the passing Norman.
I met Norman through my good friend MaryAnne. We always tried to visit Mark and Norman. When ever I visited San Cruz. My daughters also visited and enjoyed picking some of the fresh berries his garden. Norman will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Happy Birthday Dad! You would be 104 today. I know you're having a wonderful celebration with mom and all your brothers and your sister and your mom and dad.
I miss you so much! Things are so crazy down here, it looks like the end of days. Most likely we will all see you soon! PS, the garden is doing really well this year!

The earliest memories of my father was that he loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and fishing. living in Humbolt county, Eureka and Arcata mostly. He fished the Eel, Mad,Trinity, American and other mountain streams. Later the San Lorenzo, Soquel, and other streams north of Santa Cruz. He was helpful to neighbors and always smelled like fresh cut wood. Easy to love the man. Paul
