What a great man.  Each time I would see him he would greet us like a long lost friend. At Walters Jr. High, he was the soccer coach for a group of kids that already could play and he knew it.  Thank you Mr. Silvestri for being a shining light, a great supporter and a great coach for many years past our time at Walters.  Peace be with you.   Charlie Costello III aka...Chuckie as he knew me

Nick was my mentor! He was a wonderful teacher who never burned out! As a new teacher, I learned from Nick that loving kids, keeping a sense of humor, maintaining standards and finding joy in teaching was possible to sustain throughout a long career. He and Ann were the social ballast of Walters Junior High for years. Their Christmas "surprises"  inmy classroom were hilarious! Love them!

Many thanks to all who have left messages here, or who have emailed me or sent cards. I know that Dad left a lasting impression on me and my family, and it is heartening to hear that he also had such strong influences on others.

I am very proud to have had Nick as a friend and distant cousin. It helps knowing Nick lead a long and full life and passed on great genes to carry on. I wish his family all the best in dealing with their lose.
