Dad would sign off his email: "With hope and Love," capitalizing the L to communicate that Love was most important. This was how he lived, with a lot of Love in his heart. Although I will forever feel his absence in my life, I will forever feel his love in my heart.

Nick, I will miss especially our theological discussions. Your desire to keep learning through corporal, mental, and especially spiritual exercises was inspiring. You were a true progressive in science, politics, and religion. And simpatico, so simpatico. Thanks for your friendship.

God Bless and keep you Nick.  Nick and Joan are back together for eternity watching over their beloved family.  My thoughts and prayers are with all the Kuhn family.

I remember how Nick loved to present technical papers and training, most of which he had written himself. The audio levels would be set by the earlier speakers, then Nick would start presenting and his voice would literally crack the plaster walls of the auditorium. Someone get the mic away from that guy!  His enthusiasm for his work was contagious. So long, honoraryFather of Noise Figure!

I will always remember Nick as one of the most easily approachable "great ones" held in rarified esteem by his fellow engineers. When i had the privilege of having Nick on my team, his influence, knowledge, and most of all his constant upbeat persona was a tremendous asset to all of us and a significant basis of our success. His infectious smile will always be the way I remember him.

Posted on behalf of Dieter Scherer:
Nick was Mr. Noise figure for me, revered as authority on difficult technical issues, appreciated for sharing his knowledge readily, able to teach complex concepts with ease and clarity. The trust of customers in HP and HP’s reputation were built by engineers like Nick.  I valued Nick greatly as a colleague, but even more I cherished that he had become a friend with an inspiring mind, a big heart and an always ready smile.
