The last time I saw you was the first time you’d met Sofia. You remarked how much she was like me when I was little. You were right!  You took the time to write down our birthdays so you could try to remember them. That was very kind of you.  I’m glad you’ve found peace.  It’s always been my prayer for you. Love you Uncle Mike!

I smile as I think of all the memories shared with you and my girl, Sharon. Amazing how I just felt you smile back as I wrote that sentence.  You are going to be missed by a lot of people.  Including me. Good memories of you giving me crap about how many coats of nail polish I'd put on or about "ruining my hair because I put color in it, or me freaking out from baby vomit on my shoulder!

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.

All is well.

Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ.

What a man you were here on earth, you made impressive memories with just being you.  I have so many fond memories of you, I lived with you and your wife and kids for many years we shared laughs, tears and hell you made me feel like I was loved.  You always worked many hours everyday to ensure your kids had anything they wanted.  I know that your love was so deep for the kids.  The best memory is the many Christmas mornings when half of the living room was filled full, the smiles on those kids was so special.  This world is not going to be the same again with you resting above.  You deserve a good pain free and peaceful world.  This whole situation seems unfair in many ways, I tell myself over and over that God had other plans for you.  So until I see you again, rest easy as you deserve peace.  My brother I am going to miss you deeply.

Grandpa mike, I will always remember the great memories we have had together. When I was little and you would take me to A’s festivals at the colosseum. I will never forget the time you would try to teach me how to drive stick shift. I’ll remember waking up early mornings when I would go to uncle Ed’s and share some coffee. I love you and know you are with all of us.
