Dearest Marian,  You were a shining light with a sharp wit.  You helped me to always remember that putting faith first is the best way to live a life.  I will miss you.   Love,  Annette Julia Pearson Schmidt

I didn't know Marian, but I know her daughter Jill and I know of her family.  I can see her mother's beautiful smile in Jill's, and I see Marian's love of life and spunk was passed on to her daughter as well, as I am sure was to the rest of the family.  I pray for all of you that you may experience Jesus' love and peace during this time.  Laura Lea (Olson) Littleton

Marian and I had many connections: the Unitarian Universalist church from many years ago and our mutual work in the field of special education. I am so glad that I was able to re-connect with her in the last few months of life. I admired her strong beliefs and am happy that she drew comfort and peace within her religious faith.  Love from Katie Wills

I met Marian when we were in grad school together at SF state.  Her great smile and sweet demeanor always added joy to my days there. I am sorry to hear of her passing.  Rest in Peace, sweet woman.

Marian was one of my closest friends at SF State from 1971-1974. We shared classes and studying, a very important three years of our lives. We remained friends for many years after our schooling, sharing our teaching experiences and other adventures. I played at her wedding to Don, and always enjoyed hearing about her family life. She was so loving, kind and always devoted to her children.

It snowed here yesterday and I thought you'd be worried about me.  Then I remembered.  Lily was born three weeks ago and I wanted to tell you she looks like our side of the family.  Then I remembered.  So many times I want to call you, to hear your voice, to ask you things--what was Auntie's middle name?  But then I remember.  I miss you.  Every day.  And I love you.  Every day.  Forever.
