This memorial website was created in the memory of Lulu, loved by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm, on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Lexington Historical Society Building in Depot Square, Lexington.
When I was a student in Boston, whenever I wanted, (which was often), I could call Lee and Lulu and I could share a delicious dinner that Lulu made and enjoy great conversation. My wife, Joyce, and I still use her salad recipe: in oil and vinegar, soak the cut-up small salad bits: carrots, pepper and whatnot. Top with lettuce and toss just before serving. Lulu was a generous hostess.
Lulu was a wonderful mother-in-law. She was my confidante when I needed to talk about difficult life events or felt hung up on an issue. She listened carefully and with great empathy. Her head would shake and her eyes would roll when the subject was something that was outrageous or funny. I’ll miss those expressions forever. What a great woman!
I have left a short "story" about my time with Lulu. She was a beloved friend, and I'll miss her so very much
Lulu was a wonderful neighbor and part of the fabric of Stratham Road. She will be missed. Our hearts go out to Lee, Hal, Dean,Nora, and Lily.
I forgot totally about hunting Japanese beetles with Lulu. It was a joy to see her that passionate, and a joy to help her eliminate the threats to her garden. Lulu, every beetle... I'm yours
