I got an a tremendous opportunity to know and learn from Lonnie while a police officer with RPD.  What a true gentleman and friend.  God has welcomed him home.  Thank you to the family for allowing him to give so much to the community he loved.

I know Lonnie Washington through stories his grandson, Elijah-Paul Washington, has shared with me. He was clearly a wonderful influence on his family and a powerful Grandfather to know, love, admire and grow up around.

Mr. Washington was a great and caring gentle giant. My girls look to him as their grandpa. We are honor to him. We love him but God loves him best.

I met Lonnie Washington 30 years ago , when I first started working in Richmond. Truly a gentleman , a man who cared deeply about Richmond. Over the years I can't think of  a better Ambassador for Richmond . Richmond was lucky to have him . We need  more leaders with integrity to step forward and be like Lonnie Washington , God Bless

Two sister's children.  I missed seeing you in Texas when I visited.  I heard so much about my cousin Lonnie, Richmond Mayor.  May God grant you everlasting Peace, Happiness, Richness in afterlife.  Inga Thomas (Nova Dee Benjamin).
