Leon -
May you rest in peace now with loved ones who have been awaiting your arrival.  You can leave behind this life's trials and sorrows. But know you also leave much love, many friendships and with myself and a few special others many happy, fun and lasting good memories growing up as part of the Defense Ave gang. God bless. /jackie kahn

Words cannot begin to express my sorrow in the loss of Leon. He was not only my neighbor, he was truly my friend. Having him close since I moved was such a comfort to me throughout the years.
I have such fond memories. So very many. He was such a good hearted and giving man.  The kind of man that once you learned and knew him, was in your heart and there was no way to ignore or not appreciate his one of a kind personality and beauty.
Leon and I shared a good morning, good night text, as well as voice messages daily for years… Just because. Every holiday was special and a meal  spent together which I will always  cherish. His personality and laugh I will miss the most. His anytime of the day or night goofiness and that wonderful quirky laugh will ring in my heart and memory always. I will for years to come still come look for his motor chair to scoot across the properties and wait to hear him blow his horn, just to sit outside and talk in the shade under the cedar tree with me. I will miss our constant mail checks, just to make sure that we hadn't missed anything.
I hope that all can find some comfort in knowing that he is safe and happy now at peace.

My dear friend Leon,
I do hope that you are now fishing and eating whatever your heart desires… Including lots of junk and filling up on frog legs. :-) Do not worry for I will keep an eye out for your deer  and I will always be watching out for our secret yeti/Bigfoot. We will see him one day my friend. I love you Leon Burket.
