No stronger memory than driving up a winding mountain road to a ski area with Uncle Larry driving his VW bug and my little brother Mike throwing up all over the car.  He probably never got the smell out.  Great memories of great ski trips, even the one where they left me on the mountain at Purgatory(yes, Purgatory) until well after dark. Love and miss you Uncle Larry.  Jane

Larry Burke was a compassionate Dean and great mentor and close friend. He was a scholar and a highly valued and respected colleague, golf partner, breakfast pal and along with his wife Susan, dear dinner partners and friends. I was and am in shock with his loss after years of counting on his being part of my life. He will be missed.

Larry was a wonderful guy. His professionalism, competence and gentle humor made him one of the easiest folks to work with in all my years at DeAnza. Just last week I was speaking of him to a colleague, explaining Larry's long-term outlook on things and his ability to negotiate frustrating waters with ease. I always enjoyed our chats and found his perspective made my job easier. Great guy.

"Larry was a treasure of a human being,a treasure trove of knowledge which he so gladly shared with all came into his path. Not only has Susan and the Community of San Agustin lost a treasure, so has the world.  I would say, "don't cry because he is gone -- laugh, sing, dance and most of all love because he was with us and is in our hearts".
