This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Joseph Loe, 76, born on January 28th, 1940 and passed away on April 8th, 2016.

Joseph Loe was an honored veteran of the United States Navy and a Midshipman of the United States Naval Academy. He served aboard Aircraft Carriers for 10 years and during the Vietnam War.

He held a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the California State University at Chico. He enjoyed a long career as a computer programmer.

His favorite pastime was riding his Harley with family and friends and every ride was like his last. Joe enjoyed music, mostly country, the Beatles, and Bob Seger. He played many instruments and being very musical, he loved to sing and often broke out into song. Playing the guitar while singing was yet another favorite thing of his next to telling jokes. He liked making people laugh and he loved living. Favorite song: “That old time rock and roll” and a huge fan of Jessi Colter.

These are all things Joe was proud of and there are so many things we can share about Joe’s life although one thing especially comes to mind… He was an amazing soul who shared as much as he could about the experience of living with everyone possible. I like to say, “He lived OUT LOUD and he stood PROUD no matter what!”

His second wife, Paula McLemore, preceded him in death, 2001.

Joseph Loe is survived by his son Edward and his daughters Angela and Thai; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Amanda and Eden; sisters: Linda and Julie; niece: Joyce and nephews: Sean, Curtis and Erik.

I met Joe when I was twenty just getting out of the service. He was my sponsor and the best man at my wedding. We hung around off and on for 35 years. At one point we lost contact for 20 years. That didn't stop us. He moved in across the street. Best friends again, talking and drinking coffee on his patio was my favorite time, we again went to meetings.I miss you and will see ya higher up.

Just wanted to share a short story. One night I called Joe while he was in hospice. I told him I was such and such from the Internal Revenue Service. I explained we had gone over his returns for the last decade.
I told him the IRS actually owed him 1 million dollars. Then asked how he wanted it. He replied, "package it up real good so none falls out",
