You were sometimes stern and often aloof from us as children. But the past five years of caring for you helped me to know you better. I could see that you tried to be helpful, kind and lovable. I could also see how much you loved our mom. Farewell, Dad. Your daughter Jan.
Uncle John, I'm glad I got to share some time and hugs with you in the last couple years. I wish we'd had more time together during that span when I was wise enough to listen to my elders and you were healthy enough to share YOUR wisdom. Thanks for being a good big brother to my Mom. Love, Capi
My first memory of Uncle John is when he arrived in Corvallis to visit us with his new bride back in the 1950s. The red sports car they were driving probably made the biggest impression. Since then, I have learned more about both of them - especially so in the last few years. I am grateful for the times we've shared and grateful that I'm still learning more of John & Alice. Love, Sandi
