I loved you yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever. I miss you so much. You were interested in everything and loved life. When that interest stopped and you were weary of the pain, you told me you wanted to go. You felt you had a good life, now you wanted it over. We are so lucky, we had each other for 25 wonderful years. You completed my life, thank you, your feisty red head, Mickey

Jim was a wonderful guy who came to aerobics with a twinkle in his eye & a gentle smile. Once a week the Senior Center received free bread from bakeries. Jim said he would make bread pudding. He gave me some old stamps from the Netherlands & the former Dutch East Indies. These brought back lots of good & bad memories of the Dutch Colonies during WWII. I treasure these stamps, Maria Dagevo

From Ariane Franc who had her brother take us to dinner in Paris: Jim was bright, positive, very creative & a very trustworthy friend.
From Polly Dyers, our former aerobic instructor: In my mind I can see Jim with his nice smile & quiet good humor. Jim, Herman & Dave kept that back corner in line for me. We will all miss him.

I had many great discussions, debates and arguments with Big Jim in just about every subject.  Our big connection was art.  He was very interested in painting and art education.   Jane, Big Jim and I took the train in Chicago to the institute of art, spent entire day discussing the awesome collection In the museum, really fun.  OJ

On his birthday, it's good to remember Jim.  He was a joy to know, always with a twinkle in his eye.  My husband was quit a kidder, and Jim would just dish that kidding right back, with bells on.  Jim's wide interests and his zest for life were, and are, an inspiration.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Jim!  I will forever remember your wisdom and witty sense of humor.  My trip to CA as a kid where we camped in the mountains, ate freshly caught abalone and went to an A's game just for my brother and I as he read a book.  And will forever have Jhan Jhanson from Wisconsin song in my head as well as Harry Schwartz, grandpa's imaginary friend.  Rest in Peace

I remember Jim best from the times he attended our annual volunteer  luncheons. He had a big smile for us & jokes to share.  He had a lot of warmth, I felt welcome and safe with Jim.  It was a pleasure to know him and to witness & share in the deep affection and love between you both.
