Dear Candi, family, and friends,
When I have Hans on my mind,
I think of the legacy he left behind.
Not just the many accomplishments that will stand for all time,
But the focused man that was considerate and kind.
He will be missed, but not forgotten by those he held dear.
The memories we have will keep him real and near.
In our hearts, in our souls, in our minds, he’s beside us every day,
And his grandchildren and children will feel, inside them, his DNA.
So, in conclusion, I’d like to say to you,
Remember he’s with you in everything you do.
Hans was a good man that lived his life the way we all should.
So go on, with joy in your heart, the way he would.
Renee
I met Hans in a professional role yet he was always so much more than a business connection. He was one of the kindest, most genuine people that I have ever met. I shared the news with my former boss and she feels the same way. I send my deepest sympathies to Hans’ family.
All people who had met Hans knew what a wonderful husband Hans was to his loving wife Candy of 52 years; what a loving father he was to his three great children Kristin, Mike, and Karen, and what a brilliant entrepreneur he was with countless accomplishments….
Here is one more thing people might not know: Hans had been the best mentor. Hans had mentored a little boy since the boy was about eight years old. They met at a sports center and grew from a coach-student relationship into a deep bond of friendship. The boy looked up to Hans as someone he strives to grow up to be. Till Hans’s passing, for over thirteen years, Hans has been the light in this boy’s life.
With how much love, there was an equal amount of heartache to say goodbye. The boy, now a young man, dedicated his second book to his mentor. He said, “Hans, you will live on in my heart forever...”
Indeed, Hans, you have touched so many people’s lives. You will live on forever in the hearts of so many who had the privilege meeting you…
Rest In Peace
