Mr. Dubie was my 7th grade math teacher at Wendler (1966). I remember him well. He taught us to always read to the end of a quiz before starting it. A good lesson for reading anything! I especially remember that before Christmas he teared up as he read us Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory.” I don’t think I’d seen a man cry before then. I am sorry to hear he is gone.
Mr. Gerald Dubie. Hamtramck's best teacher ever. He was my favorite and life changing. He was kind and caring during my formative years and I'll always be grateful with the fondest of memories. Thank you so much for everything. Rest easy, dear one. Your memories are cherished.
