Gen was so loved - a mentor, coworker and friend. She taught me, advised me, loved me. Rest In Peace my dear friend.
The redwood tree transplanted for Gen's home to mine will be an ongoing reminder of her strength and love.
I had the best mom. She loved me no matter what. I will always love and miss her.
Mom, I see the beauty of life through your eyes. Love you forever
Sending condolences to Gen's family and our thanks for all of her service to the Oakland Museum of California over many years. She made an amazing impact and will be missed. In sympathy, Lori Fogarty
I love you...always
You were my neighbor and friend for over 30 years. I'll miss you terribly. Heather
Gen was like a sister to me for over sixty years. We shared so many experiences. She will
always have a special place in my heart
Then, one day after Summer, you notice the phoebes have left the yard.
We were so fortunate to have had the best neighbor and friend for the past 25 years. Gen was a character to say the least. Knowledgeable on so many subjects (really!) including birds, insects, snuff bottles and horticulture. She loved her children, her gardens and her friends and neighbors in her own unique way. We, as well as our community, will truly miss her!
Wonderful person who was an amazing Mother and truly loved. So connected and gifted. She will be missed.
I was a museum tech and a preparator at the Oakland Museum for many years. When I knew Gen she was all but retired and there part time.
We became friends very quickly. I have such fond memories of her sweet and kind personality. With a great sence of humor. I will always remember and miss her.
I can't believe it has been a year since you left us. It feels like yesterday that I was holding your hand and you were reminding me that it was garbage day and to make sure to pay the gardener! In charge to the very end. Everyday there is something that reminds me of you and I miss you everyday! Love you!
Thank you Randy Mowery for remembering our mother. You could take the girl out of the Bronx but you couldn’t take the Bronx out of my mother. She would have hated what is going on, now. Perhaps she can send a thunder bolt down and strike that clown down. I hope she’s hanging out with Margot and Lee. I miss you, mom.
