Phil was an awesome man and a good friend. We had many good times together barbecuing and playing poker. He always saw the good in everybody. He will truly be missed.
I can't express how much I loved this man, my boss, my mentor. I love that my friend sent me a picture of Phil tonight. It's the pic of him holding the rifle with his "kill" ( Sorry to all of the PETA folks) I want you all to know that it's my rifle he's holding. One of my favorite photos forever. I added the pic of his beloved Bella and my son, he loved kids, not just mine but all.
I have never worked for someone before Phil that I actually LOVED. I loved that man! He made coming to work everyday fun. He loved people & was there for the patient. We had quite a comeraderie, sharing our background in the Navy, he.would punch me & I would punch him several times a day. He wasn't a very tall man, but he was BIGGER THAN LIFE! I miss his smile.
Always with a smile every time I saw him, his presence is missed every day, my condolences to his family, Phil will never be forgotten.
Phil was truly an Amazing man that I will always love and myself and anyone who had the honor and pleasure of knowing Phil will miss him tremendously. He taught me so much about Love, Strength, passion, kindness and how to have great fun. I will always remember Karaoke and our trips to Gold Beach along with so many other treasured memories. I am blessed to have been a part of his life.
Phil was one of the most genuine men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was fun loving and had a heart of gold. He was fiercely loyal to those he called his own. His compassion and caring for others was witnessed even on his deathbed. I learned a lot about humankind from this man and feel that I was graced by God in knowing him. Lovin' you, buddy. You are sorely missed by me.
Uncle Phil - Thank you for your kindness, generosity and mostly your heart. Thank you for teaching me so much about life, love and being a good person. I love you and will miss you until we see each other again. GOD BLESS!!!!
As my softball Coach as a teenager and my first boss at Sutter Delta, Phil was always a loving, caring, always smiling gentleman. My thoughts and love are with his family during this time. His time of pain and suffering is over and he can finally rest in peace. You will be missed Coach. All my love, Jen (Scotto) Cardinale
Phil was the best cousin who had the biggest heart of anyone that I know. My father was August Thomas, Phil's Uncle and Mentor and as his obituary noted, Phil took over where my dad left off. He was always there for me after my father passed away and walked me down the aisle when my father could not. Phil had a contagious smile and our family will never be the same. Love you always.
Phil was a wonderful cousin who, even though we lived across the country from him, made us feel like we grew up together. He had a unique quality in him that made people feel important and special. I am not sure that I remember him without a smile. Rest in peace Phil. You have a boat load of loved ones up in heaven welcoming you.
