So sorry to hear about the passing of this wonderful lady. I had her for my first grade teacher and she had all my cousins as well in her classes.  I've had the pleasure of seeing her for the last 50+ years around town, at the polls, markets etc.  and she never forgot who I was. She was definitely an inspiration to many. (Willett)

I am so sorry for the lost of Mrs Esther Garland. She was my first grade teacher in the 1950's. I will never forget her. She was a wonderful beautiful lady. I use to see her every time I went to vote at the polls in precinct 2. My prayers go out to her family.

My family knew Esther (and Don) for many, many years at Lake Shore Park. My dad (and I at the time) built the addition on their house. Since that time, I'd see Esther at the polls and the Historical Society, and she was always smiling and outgoing. My deepest sympathies to her family at her loss.
