I want to express my deepest sympathy to all of the Carter family in the loss of your precious mother and Oma. During our lifetimes we encounter many people, they come in and out of our lives, but some have an everlasting impact that stays with us forever.  That is my experience with this wonderful woman, Mrs. Carter, as I have always known her. I was a child when our families became neighbors and she came into our lives.  She and my mom became good friends very quickly, a friendship that has lasted throughout the years.  She was a mother figure and a friend to me, whom I could confide in and call anytime for comfort. When I had a family and children of my own, she would call me and tell me to come by, that she had made a special German treat which she wanted to share with me and the kids.  I loved her dearly and she will be sorely missed by all of us.
