I had the privilege of working with Massie when he joined the Baker-Cockrell Agency prior to Johnson & Higgins of VA and will always remember the positive impact he had on us all. He was a great leader and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Mr. V.
So sorry for your loss. ----- Peyton
Dear Virginia, Henry, and Valentine family,
The world lost the epitome of a true Southern gentleman in Massie Valentine, whom I have known since I was a youngster on the tennis courts at Farmington. His manners, conduct, friendliness, impeccable attire, and good breeding made it impossible not to look up to him as a perfect role model. I send blessings, sympathy and love.Charlie
Although I did not know him...I feel certain that my father did. Dr. Gordon R. Woody, Jr. was also a 7 ('54). He was also an Econ major. He was also a St. A so I'm sure their paths must have crossed. As a tennis coach for the past 20 years in New Jersey, I felt compelled to write to express my condolences
