RIP my lone brother, gone too soon, but achieved more than anyone I have known. An actual Christian who embraced all, with a doctrine of love and tolerance. A gentle patriot who believed in the America of his Junior High civics class. From a low middle class background he rose to become a University President and was still ascending at the time of his death. He embodied the American dream.

Above all else, Roy was truly kind. He was a natural leader and teacher who always believed in and helped the underdog. His wonderful sense of humor, optimism and intellect achieved the impossible. He was curious, really curious - about people, culture, politics, music, travel, about life and all its complexities. The world is a better place because of him.
